Temporary Foreign Workers Program

The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) is designed to permit Canadian employers to take on vacancies if workers from Canada aren’t available. Employers must pass an assessment of the labour market, known as the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). If the Canadian government believes that hiring foreign workers has a positive or neutral effect on the economic system, they’ll accept an LMIA application. The foreign worker the Canadian employer hires will then be able to apply for a work permit.

Contrary to the TFWP, Most work permit streams in Canada don’t require the LMIA. This means you could be eligible for an employment permit if you fall within one of Canada’s various LMIA exempt categories for foreign workers.

Post-Graduation Work Permit

The PGWP can be described as the largest and most sought-after category of work permit exempt from LMIA. Students from abroad who wish to remain in Canada after graduation from a Canadian post-secondary college may apply for a postgraduation-related work permit that lasts between eight months and three years. You may be eligible even if you study online outside Canada in an accredited Canadian institution.

Global Talent Stream

The programme is designed for those employed in certain ICT or STEM-related jobs. It is designed to assist Canada in finding foreign workers who can help companies increase their workforces and encourage the development of new technologies. The primary benefit is that qualified people can expedite their work permits. They receive it within four weeks.
